Policies
Communication Policy
Here are your guidelines to communicating before and during the festival. It will become very obvious to all if you’ve NOT read and followed these guidelines, so please follow them
Prior to the festival our Facebook Group “Onefest Current Crew” will be our main source of providing information, gathering choices and preferences from you, and getting to know one another. Group related questions or advice needed can also be posted by anyone, but specific questions must be sent to Jessica Oach, Assistan, via direct message. DO NOT just comment in the group, as she may not see it. It is your responsibility to read what is posted and respond promptly when asked.
Telegram
Telegram is the OFFICIAL and ONLY communications app for Onefest 2025. DO NOT use Facebook beginning the Wed of the festival. All questions, concerns, or late arrivals MUST be sent to Jessica Oachs directly on Telegram, so be sure you have her in your contacts. He will not monitor Facebook. The Group “Onefest Current Crew” is maintained and used by Security leadership for group broadcast communications only. Additional groups may be created as needed by the leadership. If you need to communicate with someone individually you will need to reach out directly to them.
Security leadership will use Telegram to send attachments such as position guidelines, schedules, and other important information prior to the festival. It is your responsibility to thoroughly read ALL materials sent and ask questions if necessary.
During the days of the festival any important updates will also be sent through Telegram including the following:
- Gate Policy changes
- Gate Location changes
- Emergency Notifications
- Lost children / Adult Notifications
Radio
You will be assigned a radio for all Gate or Entrance shifts. For the first shift of the day the radio will be BROUGHT to you at the Gate or Entrance. The radio is then passed on to the next shift until the LAST shift of the day, when you must hand the radio DIRECTLY back to the Supervisor of that area.
You may also be assigned a radio/accessory at assignments such as Crowd Patrol, Artist Detail, Crowd Control, or Front of Stage. Either Greg Nordin, Communication Supervisor, or your immediate Supervisor will hand you a radio/accessory that is assigned to you for the extent of your shift. YOU are responsible for handing your radio/accessory back to the Comm Sup or immediate Sup following your shift. NO EXCEPTIONS or excuses!!
General Radio Rules
- Check your radio IMMEDIATELY upon receiving it to make sure it works, is on the right channel, and is at an appropriate volume to hear all calls. Check it for damage when getting it from the previous shift, as you are responsible for its condition at the end of your shift.
- If something should happen to your radio (dropped, broken antenna, etc.) you MUST notify the Communications Supervisor immediately.
- Be prompt checking your radio in since that same radio might be used elsewhere immediately.
- If you are handed a headset or surveillance kit (accessories) you are required to use it. We do not want others hearing our radio traffic.
- The radio will beep when the battery is low. Call Communications Team or ask your immediate Sup for a fresh battery ASAP. You may also come directly to the Security Office.
- DO NOT WALK on other conversations that are in progress. This means allowing a conversation to conclude or questions to be fully answered before you jump in with another radio discussion.
- Keep all unnecessary communication to a minimum. Onefest leadership could be listening in.
- The radios are NOT toys. They are very expensive. Do not leave it lying around unattended.
- We are running on a repeater, there is a slight delay, so push the talk button and wait one second before you begin to talk, if you fail to do so, the beginning of you communication will be cut off.
- A channel list will be attached to the radio, any channel designated with a “r” is a repeated channel.
How to use the Radio
- Press the button on the side of the radio and wait “one second”
- Call the person you wish to speak to , Example “Joe at gate 9 to Jessica”
- Wait on the person to respond, give a quick overview of what you need.
- If it is an emergency , please do not explain the situation over the radio. Ask for a supervisor to respond to your location.
- If it is a missing/lost child related issue, please refer to the “lost child policy”.
OneFest Lost Child Policy
Intro
During the course of the festival, we will more than likely deal with a missing/lost child, separated parent, or vulnerable adult.
- Missing Child = This is when the parent(s) come to us and say that their child is missing.
- Separated Parent = This is when we have the child that has been separated from their parent.
- Vulnerable Adult = This is a person 18 years of age or older that may have special needs.
Process
Contact Greg Nordin over radio, or Telegram if you do not have a radio.
- On Radio = State who you are, Where you are (gate, etc), and that you have a “situation” Greg will meet up with you to get a description from the parent of the child.
- Example “This is John at Gate 9, I have a situation”
Codes
These following Codes.
- ADAM = Missing or Lost Male Child under the age of 18.
- EVE = Missing or Lost Female Child under the age of 18.
- PURPLE = Missing or Lost Vulnerable Young adult age 18 +
- SILVER = Missing or lost elderly person.
Protocols
In any of the following situations we need to remain calm. Parents may be emotionally charged because they cannot find their child or loved one. A child will more than likely be upset because they are scared.
Missing Child - Code ADAM / EVE
- If a code ADAM / EVE is called, we will immediately lock down both Entrances to guests with children leaving or entering.
- Greg will then broadcast via a radio message the proper code to all security, and that a description and photo (if available) has been posted to the Telegram Festival Group.
- If you find the child, please escort them to the Sheriff’s Trailer and again contact Greg and he will communicate to the crew that the code has been canceled.
Missing Parent - NO CODE
- Contact Greg, he will meet up with you (DO NOT LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED).
- We will do the best we can to get information from the child.
- Greg will determine if we need the crews help in finding the parents. If so determined a radio communication will be sent as well as Information may be sent to Telegram.
- Keep in mind that in this situation the child could be very scared, we need to be sure that we deal with them on a level for them to know that they are safe.
- When the child and parent are reunited, a message should be broadcast to notify the crew.
Missing Vulnerable Young Adult - Code PURPLE
- If a code PURPLE is called, we will not lock down Entrances.
- Greg will then broadcast via a radio message the proper code to all security, and that a description and photo (if available) has been posted to the Telegram Festival Group.
- If you find the child, please take them to the Information Office and again contact Greg and communicate to the crew that the code has been canceled.
Missing Elderly Person - Code SILVER
- If a code SILVER is called, we will not lock down Entrances.
- Greg will then broadcast via a radio message the proper code to all security, and that a description and photo (if available) has been posted to the Telegram Festival Group.
- If you find the described person, please contact Greg, after confirmation that the missing person has been reunited, and all clear will be announced.
Examples of calls
“Attention All Security Crew, We have a CODE ADAM, I repeat a CODE ADAM, LOCK Down in progress, I Repeat LOCK Down in progress, please do not allow anyone to enter or exit until further notice, <Will provide description>, I have provided a picture and description of the missing child to Telegram, please read immediately. Anyone on patrol at this time please walk the grounds an keep and eye out for the described child. Please inform me immediately if you spot the child and your whereabouts.”
“Attention All Security Crew, CODE ADAM HAS BEEN CANCELED, I repeat CODE ADAM HAS BEEN CANCELED. All Entrances can reopen.”
If you need to call for Greg to respond in the instance you have a child or a parent here would be an example of a call, Reminder we DO NOT say lost child or give any details at this point.
“Greg Copy” Once I respond, “I have a situation to report. Can you please meet me?” I will ask where I can meet you and will come to find you and at that point you can tell me what the situation is. I will then gather details and decide how to proceed based on the information.

Appearance & Conduct

- Maintain professionalism at all times, as your mobile position means you’ll be engaging with a wide range of attendees, staff, and vendors.
- Be approachable but firm, lead by example.
Patrolling & Surveillance
- Patrol your assigned zone regularly: main stage, crowd zones, vendor area, perimeter, or parking lot.
- Watch for signs of intoxication, altercations, suspicious activity, or people in distress.

- Scan the line. Look for anything that stands out. Look at the items in people’s hands. Is anyone acting agitated? Or not take their hands from their pockets.
- Observe their level of excitement. Is it a 13 year old girl who is acting like Tigger about seeing her favorite female artist, or is it a 40 year old man? Look for attitudes that aren’t matching the crowd or artist energy. Everyone is excited, and one person is a dud.

Backstage Gates General Notes
- Always come ready for your shift – Water to drink, sunscreen, bug spray and flashlight.
- Stay at your gate until at least 1 person from the next shift arrives.
- ALL vehicles MUST be brought to a complete stop every time going into the backstage side, and checked from close range for backstage wristband or all access lanyard, passengers included. No armbands must be denied entrance until they get one.
- COMMUNICATE by radio with your Supervisor ANY/ALL questions, concerns, or issues. When in doubt – ASK. Your Supervisor is there to help you!
- Always maintain an ALERT position and appearance. Sitting is fine, but please avoid slumping or putting your feet up, and scrolling through your phone. These could be mistaken for not doing your job, inattention, or napping.
- Always be friendly. You have NO IDEA who might be walking through your gate, and we don’t want to have to explain why you may have appeared rude or insensitive to an Artist, Tour Manager, or OneFest leader.
- Remain calm and poised no matter what hits the fan. Always appear to be in control. Involve your supervisor.
- Everyone must be checked for a backstage wristband, rain or shine, every time, including golf carts and passengers. Never assume someone has a backstage wristband just because they confidently walk right past you. Do not get distracted by multiple people and let one person slip by you both.
- ALWAYS acknowledge you’ve seen their wristband with a wave of your hand. It shows others watching you that you are actually checking people.
- One of you may leave at any time (since there are two of you there) for a bathroom break. You may also need to follow someone who refused to show a wristband. Calmly follow the individual and call your Sup for support.
- PLEASE feel free to switch off during evening bands to catch some of the shows. Be fair about it, not leaving your partner alone all shift. Be sure to return at shift’s end. We allow this so everyone gets a chance to see some of the best performances.
- AFTER the last band of the night, STAY at your gate until relieved. We will be working to get an overnight crew member to replace you and eventually close your gate. Be patient.
Front Stage & Pit Guidelines
Pit Left & Right
- Assist the Supervisor in closing and opening the reserved area bridge as requested. The bridge will be closed 15 minutes before most sets, and 20 minutes before the last two bands.
- The bridge will be opened for all traffic immediately after each artist finishes.
- Be vocal in moving attendees forward and keeping walkways clear. Ensure no one stops near the pit opening or corners. When moving the crowd forward in the pit, provide three verbal warnings first. Avoid physical contact unless an individual refuses to move, and notify a Supervisor of any issues.
- Monitor the pit for any questionable behavior. Address issues quietly and/or alert your Supervisor.
- The pit will be cleared after the final artist. No exceptions. The stage crew needs to rearrange cables that run through the pit.
Pit Pass Checkpoint
- Please begin organizing the Pit Pass line. Verify that each attendee has their ticket information ready, either as a printout or on their phone. Hold the line at the checkpoint until you are released by the Supervisor. No outside food or beverages are allowed in the pit; only water bottles are permitted.
- Once an artist begins their set, start a new line at the Pit Checkpoint for attendees with passes for the next performer. The new line must remain at the Pit Checkpoint.
Pit Walkway Left & Right
- The Pit is open to everyone until the final two artists of the night. For these last two performances, a Pit Pass is required for entry.
- Pit Pass holders must form a single-file line against the concrete wall. Every person must have their pass scanned and receive a hand stamp.
- Each artist will have a unique hand stamp to manage those who need to leave and return. Once an artist is on stage, please verify that everyone entering has both a pass and the correct stamp.
- Anyone leaving the Pit who holds a pass for the second artist should be allowed to line up at the front of the queue for the next set.
- Assist with the photo line, which is open to all. Only move the line forward if other guests are waiting behind them.
- If the Pit appears to be reaching capacity, you will be notified to close the entrance immediately.
Reserved Photo Line Left & Right
- Give each person enough time to take 5-6 pictures and then move on to the next person. If they want more pics they may get back in the line.
- Check the front row seating frequently to make sure no one is standing in front of them.
- Be aware if anyone throws anything on stage. If possible, take note of who threw the item and notify the Sup.
- Make sure you’re focusing your attention on the people in front of you and not the artists. Smile and be polite. Everyone can see you.
Professional Conduct
- Report DIRECTLY to the Supervisor at the beginning of your shift for assignment location.
- Wear proper foot wear. No open toe shoes or crocs. Flashlight is a must. Bring a water bottle (refills available).
- Inform the Supervisor before leaving your post for ANY reason. Never leave it unattended.
- No sitting in the reserved seating section with or without your security shirt. These seats are purchased and not for your own personal pleasure.
- Utilize the provided table and chairs backstage for breaks from the sun.
- No selfies of yourself in the pit. Ask someone to take the picture, but do not lose focus on your job taking pictures of yourself or the artist on stage.
- Focus on crowd security and stay alert. Enjoy the show but maintain vigilance; never obstruct the view of the crowd.
- Never follow an artist leaving the stage at any time during their performance!
- No standing or sitting on the concrete wall with the black fencing. No one is allowed on anyone’s shoulders.
- Please keep the pit crowd from standing under the center platform. This is for the Security crew and any heat related emergencies.

General Instructions and Guidelines
- If you don’t know – ask!! ANY AND ALL questions, concerns, or issues should be called in by radio IMMEDIATELY to the Ticket Gate Supervisor. We are here to help!
- Always come prepared – water, sunscreen, hat, and bugspray/flashlight after 8pm.
- Instruct reserved seat holders that they MUST go to the OneBox office at the bottom of the hill to get their special armband for entry into the RESERVED seating area.
- Be on the lookout for individuals that seem shifty or agitated. Look for out of season, heavy clothing that might conceal something. Report the individual to your Sup ASAP by radio. Be ready to describe the individual.
- One person should ALWAYS be at the gate. The other can take a bathroom break, chase runners, etc.
- Bag checks will take place OUTSIDE the gate only on tables provided. The list of prohibited items is clearly posted at all gates. Please study and know it before you begin letting people in. It’s critical we all follow it.
- Inspect EVERY oversized bag, backpack and cooler, no purses. NEVER reach into a bag or backpack. Ask the patron to open it and move things around so you can better see the contents. Do not rush and miss something.
- No food, including full meals (or the makings of full meals), is allowed except for snack items. No drinks are allowed, except for up to one 32 oz. refillable water bottle per person.
- No weapons, alcohol, or drugs. Should you find drugs, alcohol, or any weapon, continue to hold/possess the bag, and walk the individual away from the gate so you don’t create a spectacle. Contact your Sup ASAP, but give no details over the radio!
- Don’t check purses or pat down the festival goers. We’re OneFest Security, not the TSA.
- Ask/remind every parent of a small child to take a current pic of their children and write their cell # on the child’s armband.
- Always maintain an ALERT position and appearance. Sitting is fine, but please avoid slumping or putting your feet up that could be mistaken for not doing your job, or inattention.
- Always be friendly. BEFORE any conflict gets out of control, alert your Supervisor ASAP.
- No pets are allowed in the ticketed area, but service animals are obviously OK. Simply ASK if the dog is a service animal. No proof can be required by law.
- Motorized transport, scooters, skateboards or bicycles are NOT allowed inside the ticketed area, except of course for the disabled.
- During the closing bands ONLY, you may take turns going to see part of an artist. Be fair and switch off.
- After the last shift of the night, stay at your gate until relieved by a Supervisor.
Overnight Security Guidelines
- You must bring a flashlight for all overnight shifts.
- It will get cold, so plan for warmer clothes (Hoodie, Jacket, Gloves, etc.)
- Smile, talk, and interact with the campers. They will see you all weekend and you may impact them in a way you don’t know. Be God’s servant and show His love. We are all ALWAYS doing this, every time we go to/from a shift, get food, or walk around between shifts. You are wearing a security shirt so you will be asked for help. If you cannot, do not just ignore the person. Simply say, “Hold on, I will find someone that can help you”.
- Smoking/vaping is ALLOWED on festival grounds, but NOT in the ticketed area.
- No motorized vehicles are allowed on grounds for concert goers, except for the disabled.
- If you observe anything unusual and you’re not sure what to do, contact your Supervisor via radio.
We believe no one will be able to come into camp on Thursday overnight. The camping gate will be locked once camp staff has left for the day. The gate will close at 8PM. NO ADMITTANCE AFTER. We will not let people in. Save yourself the headache and just stay away from the gate so you don’t need to be asked questions as to why they can’t get in.
Parking Lots
On Friday and Saturday night there is no parking overnight, nor can anyone sleep in their cars.
Campgrounds
- Open ground fires or bonfires are not allowed. Self-contained fires (inside fire rings) are allowed. Do not dig fire pits. All campfires and grills must be contained and monitored at all times.

Ticketed Area
After the ticketed area “bowl” has been cleared the security of the bowl is turned over to Overnight Security. Every hour it should be SLOWLY patrolled by cart (ONLY driving on the outer road and not down the middle). Watch for unusual sights and sounds in or around any of the vendor trucks or booths. Any individuals walking around should have a vendor armband. Check the stage every hour as well for signs of activity.
Golf Carts
All security golf carts should be parked between gates 13 and 17 along the fenceline in Staff Camping on Sat night/Sunday morning. (We use the one cart with the bin to transport all the trash during clean up).

Save yourself the headache and just stay away from the gate so you don’t need to be asked questions as to why they can’t get in.
Parking Lots
On Friday and Saturday night there is no parking overnight, nor can anyone sleep in their cars.
Campgrounds
Open ground fires or bonfires are not allowed. Self-contained fires (inside fire rings) are allowed. Do not dig fire pits. All campfires and grills must be contained and attended at all times.
Generators are allowed on General Camping Sites only! If you need to run your generator all night due to a medical reason, please contact our camping lead team.
Quiet hours are between the hours of midnight to 7 am. All fires must be extinguished and all generators shut off during this time. No music or other noise after midnight.
Illegal drugs, firearms, and/or any other type of weapons are prohibited everywhere on the grounds.
Unauthorized drones, ATVs, golf carts, mopeds, dirt bikes, go-karts or any other off-road or non-licensed vehicles are not allowed on the festival grounds.
Soliciting, glass containers, horses, weapons of any kind, and fireworks are not allowed on the grounds.
Ticketed Area
People should not be hanging around stages or in ticketed areas after the last concert is finished unless they are backstage crew or OneFest Staff. There are plenty of places for people to go and the ticketed area is not one of them.

Backstage Gate Guidelines
Gates 1, 13, 17, 110, 120 and 130 (Supervisor - Kirk Partello)
ALL GATES
- Always come prepared – comfortable shoes, water, flashlight after 8pm, and sunscreen.
- Stay alert, always check for the proper wrist band/lanyard and acknowledge you saw it. Do not assume it is under a long sleeve, ask to see it. It must be worn and not carried.
- Always be friendly. BEFORE it gets out of control, alert your Supervisor ASAP..
- If you don’t know – ask. Do not be afraid to talk with your Supervisor. We are here to help!
- Stay at your gate until relieved by at least 1 person from the next shift.
- After the last shift of the night, stay at your gate until relieved by a supervisor.
- Feel free, if not busy, to take turns to see part of an artist. Be fair about it.
- One person should ALWAYS be at the gate. The other can take a potty break, chase runners.
GATE 1 - Road Entrance
- Keep the gate open. They must show Back Stage credentials before entering. No exceptions. Problems, call supervisor.
- If there is a list of exceptions, make sure they are on it. Garbage, Port-a-potty, Caterer, Festival Grounds Office Personnel and Emergency Vehicles.
- If an artist bus/vehicle, welcome to OneFest and let Supervisor know who arrived.
- No Vendors or Food Trucks, They should use GATE 2
GATE 13 - Vehicle Entance into Staff Camping
- Every vehicle must have a volunteer camping pass or a parking pass displayed.
- Every person must have either backstage or volunteer camping wristband.
- Keep area funneled down so you can see everyone’s wristbands
GATE 17 - Center Gate between Ticketed Grounds and Backstage
- Be very alert. Very heavy traffic. Lots of golfcarts, gators, walking traffic.
- Meet and greet groups entrance – must be escorted by OneFest Staff.
- Must have either backstage or volunteer camp wristband.
GATE 110 - Large Swing Gate on Far Right Backstage Fenceline
- Gate Fence should be ⅔ closed. Leave enough room for cart/gator traffic.
- Not a vehicle gate with VERY few exceptions.
GATE 120 - Stage Right
- Ice freezers right next to gate – backstage.
- Must have backstage only wristbands.
GATE 130 - Gate Between Staff Camping and Full Backstage
- Must have Full Backstage (not Camping) wristband to go from Camping to Full Backstage.
Additions notes
- Upon arrival at your shift PLEASE let the Backstage Sup know ASAP by radio. Simply state your name, which Gate you’re at, and you’re reporting for duty.
- COMMUNICATE with your Supervisor ANY/ALL questions, concerns, or issues. When in doubt – ASK. Your Supervisor is there to help you!
- Always maintain an ALERT position and appearance. Sitting is fine, but please avoid slumping or putting your feet up that could be mistaken for not doing your job, inattention, or napping.
- Everyone must be checked for a backstage wristband, rain or shine, every time, EXCEPT for golf carts and passengers. Never assume someone has a backstage wristband just because they confidently walk right past you. Do not get distracted by multiple people and let one person slip by you both.
- ALWAYS acknowledge you’ve seen their wristband with a wave of your hand. It shows others watching you’re for sure checking people.
- Gate #1 is the entrance for Vehicles/Tour buses and must display a vehicle pass. If it’s an artist just arriving, cordially greet them with “Welcome to OneFest” and contact your Supervisor immediately to get assistance from the Stage Manager.
- Gate #13 is the entrance into Volunteer Camping. Everyone entering must display a parking/camping pass and/or have the special wristband for that half of Backstage.
- Gate #130 is located BETWEEN the Backstage and Volunteer Camping. ONLY those with the full backstage wristband are allowed to enter Backstage. All others (non-working spouses, kids, etc.) cannot go into Backstage from Volunteer Camping.
- One of you may leave at any time (since there are two of you there) for a bathroom break. You may also need to follow someone who refused to show a wristband. Calmly follow and call your Sup for support.
- PLEASE feel free to switch off during evening bands to catch some of the shows. Just be fair about it, not leaving your partner alone all shift. Be sure to return at shift’s end. We allow this so everyone gets a chance to see some of the best performances.
- AFTER the last band of the night, STAY at your gate until relieved. We will be working to get overnight crew to replace you and eventually close your gate. Be patient.
- ANY AND ALL questions, concerns, or issues should be called in by radio IMMEDITAELY to the Backstage Supervisor.
